God is in the Details

Ok, you guys. I am super excited to share with you about a graphics job I recently had an opportunity to be a part of. God is so awesome. He never ceases to amaze me in how He puts these things together.

Back in September I was approached by a dear friend of ours who works in the mission's field about creating her a website for her ministry. She proceeded to tell me that Sunday afternoon as she was asking around the church if anyone knew of someone who did web design. To my surprise people were giving her my name. I proceeded to tell her no, that I do graphics design - web design is in a whole other category. I explained to her that yes, I created a website for my own business this past year but that was as far as my knowledge went where web design goes so, I didn't understand why people would be recommending me for this job.

Anyway, as our conversation went on, I could hear in the back of my mind something I heard Jerry Savelle say in a series I had just finished listening to that week. He stated, "Never turn down the opportunity for work when it presents itself." So, I stepped out in faith and set a date to meet with her.

(CD series: "Win or Lose by Your Attitude." I highly recommend it)

The day came when we were to sit down and look through website templates to see if we could find one that she liked and could easily be maintained. The very first one I opened she turned to me a smiled. Thinking it wasn't what she was looking for I told her that this was just one of many she could choose from. I just opened this one to show her how simple and easy it would be to maintain. She stopped me and said, no, that's not it. "You weren't there when I explained it to them." Puzzled, I asked her what she meant.

She proceeded to tell me about a dream God had given her where her ministry was concerned. He showed her an image of a steep mountain top that was the same color as the sky. As she looked around there was no trail, nor any footprints and that she was the only one standing at the base of that mountain. The very first template I had chosen was that of a blue and white mountain top with a single person standing on it. It was almost exactly what God had showed her in that dream and she had only shared this dream with a small group of people. I knew nothing about it. She went on to say that she knew a someone who did web design, but she waited until she was back in town to see if she could find someone from our church who could help her create what she needed. Needless to say, that was the website she chose, and I got the job.

Now, anyone who works in web design can tell you. To create a nice, clean website, it takes time. Designing it is one thing but coming up with all the information that goes on it can take months, depending on how detailed you want your site. But I tell you, when God has His hand it in, anything is possible (Matthew 19:26). From start to finish her website was all designed, written, linked, and published within a 2-week period! I told her I have never seen a website come together as fast as this one did! It took me the better part of a year to create mine and between the two of us, hers was done in 2 weeks. That's amazing!

As I've said before, when you get God involved in your plans you can stand back & watch him unfold them into something way better than you could have ever done on your own. So here it is. I encourage you to check it out and see what God is doing through her all around the world. PS. Yes, that is my dear friend, Ms. Althea, standing at the top of the mountain.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own

understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

Proverbs 3:5-6

If you have a testimony of how God did something in your life,

I would love to hear about it in the comments below.
